Mary L. Hillson (b. Lees) (1877-1913) was born in Tiverton, Rhode Island, and died in Fall River, Massachusetts. Her immediate family had emigrated from England to the United States in the 1860s. She married Robert Hillson, an upholsterer, in Fall River in 1900. Hillson's older sister, Emma Lees, helped found the Fall River Christian Science Institute in 1886. In 1888 Hillson wrote to Mary Baker Eddy from Fall River that her family wanted to join the Church of Christ (Scientist). It is unclear whether or not the family joined the church at that time; however Emma later joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 6, 1895.
