Hiram H. Hill (1810-1889) was born in Turner, Maine, and died in Augusta,
Maine. He graduated from the Medical School of Maine at Bowdoin College in 1836. After
graduation, he set up his practice in Maine, which he maintained until his passing. In
addition to being a practicing physician, Hill also played a prominent role in the
founding of Maine General Hospital (1874) and Maine Medical Association (1853).
