Ada A. Hill (1837-1911) was born in Jackson, Ohio, and died in Long
Beach, California. She was a milliner who became interested in Christian Science in 1886
while living in Peoria, Illinois. She appears to have been introduced to Christian
Science by Mary E. Bailey, a Christian Scientist and student of Bradford Sherman's. Hill
purchased
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and
subscribed to
The Christian Science Journal. Her interest in
Christian Science appears to have been short-lived and there is no record of her joining
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
