Florence L. Heywood (1865-1938) was born and died in Worcester,
Massachusetts. She became interested in Christian Science in late 1884, after receiving
Christian Science treatment through prayer from Albert B. Dorman. Afterwards she studied
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and healed her
mother, Louisa M. Heywood, of back pain. In 1886, Florence L. Heywood met with Mary
Baker Eddy in Boston at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. There is no record of
her studying with Eddy or joining The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston,
Massachusetts.
