Arvilla M. Hersey
Arvilla M. Hersey (1824-1893) was born in Guilford, Maine, and died in
South Paris, Maine. She became interested in Christian Science during the winter of 1884
when she studied several books on metaphysical healing, including Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In April 1885 her husband,
Tristram Hersey, wrote to Mary Baker Eddy asking for information on studying at the
Massachusetts Metaphysical College.
