Frances C. Hawkins (b. Seeber) (1837-1906) was born in Brownsville, New York, and died in Trenton, New Jersey. In 1861, she married H. Byron Hawkins, a sailor who became a captain of lake vessels. In 1886, Hawkins wrote to The Christian Science Journal to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Hawkins studied with Ellen E. Cross and joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 1, 1904.
