Annie M. Hathaway (1852-1889) was born in Swansea, Massachusetts, and died in Somerset, Massachusetts. She was the first wife of Ira A. Hathaway, a carpenter from Somerset. In 1885 she became interested in Christian Science after receiving treatment through prayer from Delia S. Manley, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's and a practitioner listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal under Fall River, Massachusetts. Hathaway wrote to Eddy to ask for information on studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, but there is no record of her studying there.
