Albert R. Hatch (1817-1882) was born in Greenland, New Hampshire, and died in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, in 1837. He worked as a lawyer and was a Freemason. Hatch married Margaret R. Harris in Newington, New Hampshire, in 1848. He was a clerk of the United States Circuit Court from 1848 to 1873. In 1874, Hatch was Speaker of the House of the New Hampshire State Legislature.
