Mildred N. Hall (1869-1945), later known as Mildred H. McQuaid, was born and died in Colorado. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, taking Primary class in January 1887 and joining the Christian Scientist Association shortly after. Mildred, along with her mother, Mary, and sister, Minnie, were instrumental in the early growth of Christian Science in Denver, Colorado. The Halls became interested in Christian Science in 1885 after receiving Christian Science treatment through prayer from two of Eddy's students in Chicago. Later, after returning to Denver, Minnie founded the Colorado Christian Science Institute (1886) and Mildred maintained a practice with her mother, Mary. Mildred appears to have stopped her public Christian Science healing practice in the early 1890s and pursued a career as a stage actor. She first married fellow stage actor, George W. Wessels (1904), and then cattle rancher, Thomas McQuaid (1911). She joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 3, 1899 and remained a member until her passing.
