Elizabeth A. Gooding (1852-1935) was born in Montpelier, Vermont, and died in Chicago, Illinois. She became interested in Christian Science in 1885, taking Primary class instruction with Bradford Sherman and joining the Christian Scientist Association of Chicago shortly afterwards. In November 1900, she joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
