Lucy A. E. Gale (b. Nimocks) (1838-1898) was born in Carthage, New York, and died in San Francisco, California. She lived with her family in Wilna, New York, until she married Thomas M. Gale in Norwich, Connecticut, in 1857. They subsequently moved to San Francisco where Thomas worked as a steamboater. Thomas died in 1869, and for the rest of her life Lucy lived with her son, Frank W. Gale, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, and active in the establishment of Christian Science in San Francisco.
