James Edward Frothingham (1856-1930) was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a doctor in Lynn and later in Boston. He was interested in studying and then teaching Christian Science, although he doubted its efficacy to heal. There is no record of him studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church.
