Liva A. Foster (b. Evans) (1832-1915) was born in Strafford, Vermont, and died in Waterbury, Vermont. She was the second wife of Leonard R. Foster, whom he married in Moretown, Vermont, in 1862 after the death of his first wife. She thus became the stepmother of Ebenezer J. Foster Eddy, whom Mary Baker Eddy legally adopted in 1888. The Fosters moved to Waterbury sometime prior to 1880. After Leonard's death in 1897, Liva joined her stepson Ebenezer's household in Waterbury and remained there until her passing.
