P00672Winslow C. Fisk (1853-1919) was born in Landgrove, Vermont, and died in
Brookline, Massachusetts. He began his career as a secretary and bookkeeper. He married
Frances B. Fisk (b. White) in Weston, Vermont, in 1874, and they moved to Boston,
Massachusetts, soon thereafter. Winslow and Frances first studied Christian Science in
July 1886 with Henry P. Bailey, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, and subsequently became
students of Eddy themselves. They both took the Primary class in May 1887 and became
members of the Christian Science Association upon completing it. Winslow also took the
Obstetrics class from Eddy in October 1888. In June 1887 the Fisks moved to Topeka,
Kansas, in order to establish Christian Science there. Winslow was listed as a
practitioner and teacher of Christian Science in
The Christian Science
Journal from 1888 until his passing and also served as First Reader in First
Church of Christ, Scientist, Topeka, from 1903 to 1905. Frances was listed as a
practitioner in 1888. After Frances's death, Winslow married Harriett E. Fisk (b.
Neelly) in Topeka in 1900. He joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston,
Massachusetts, on July 1, 1893. Harriett joined the church on November 7, 1899 and was
listed as a practitioner in Topeka from 1904 until 1920.
