Mary C. H. Fenn (b. Hall) (1833-1915) was born in Rutland, Vermont, and
died in Chicago, Illinois. In 1867 in Rutland, she married Dr. Curtis T. Fenn, the year
he graduated from Rush Medical College. The couple then moved to Chicago where her
husband was practicing as a physician and later lectured in medicine. In 1886, Fenn
wrote to Mary Baker Eddy that she wished to study Christian Science and asked for a
recommendation for a teacher in Chicago. Fenn later wrote that she had decided to study
with Hannah A. Larminie. She was a member of a Church of Christ, Scientist, in Chicago
and was listed in
The Christian Science Journal as a
practitioner in Chicago from 1899 until 1914.
