Nancy A. Evans (1829-1910) was born in Derby, Vermont, and died in Iron
Mountain, Michigan. She became interested in Christian Science in 1884 after visiting
Oconto, Wisconsin, and purchasing
Science and Health with Key to the
Scriptures. Later she took Primary class instruction with Laura E. Sargent, a
student of Mary Baker Eddy's. On July 1, 1893, she joined The First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was a member until her passing. Evans was also
a Christian Science practitioner, listed in the directory of
The
Christian Science Journal from 1890 until 1910. She contributed to the early
growth of Christian Science in Iron Mountain.
