Arvilla Erskine (c.1828-1907) was born in Richmond, Maine, and died in
Cambridge, Massachusetts. She spent the majority of her life living in East Boston,
where she was a member of the Meridian Street Methodist Episcopal Church (which later
became the Methodist Street Bethel). While Erskine received a letter of dismissal from
the Meridian Street church in 1875, records show that she joined the Church of Christ
(Scientist) a decade later, in 1885. Her name disappears from the Church records
completely in about 1887.
