William A. Dyer (1845-1923) was born in Princeton, New Jersey, and died
in Washington, D.C. He married Anna V. Dyer (b. Wilson) in 1869. He lived primarily in
Washington, D.C. where he worked as a telegraph operator and later as a government
clerk. In 1886, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy on behalf of Emma Gray to order a copy of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Records do not
indicate that he had further involvement with Christian Science beyond this
communication.
