William J. Durgin (1828-1909) was born in Sanbornton Bridge (now Tilton),
New Hampshire, and died in an unknown location. He worked as a farmer and first married
Clara J. Conner in 1868. After her passing in 1870, he married Abbie G. Day in Tilton in
1873. His wife's mother-in-law from her first marriage, Mary Baker Eddy's sister Abigail
Tilton, left her and their daughter, Lela G. Durgin, money and items when she died in
1886. Based on the records available, we have found no further information concerning
Durgin's involvement with Christian Science.
