Susanna L. Durant (1831-1918), a school teacher in the Boston Public
Schools, was born in Sandwich, Massachusetts, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. She was
a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, studying with her in the spring of 1881 and joining the
Christian Scientist Association on April 16, 1881. She resigned as a member of the
Christian Scientist Association and the Church along with eight other students in
October 1881.
