Charlotte V. Drinkwater (1841-1916) was born and died in Greenwich, Massachusetts. For over 30 years she was the Superintendent of Boston's Young Women's Christian Association. Then in 1901, she returned to her family home in Greenwich and founded the Hillside School for the purpose of giving homeless children a "good education and country upbringing." The present-day Hillside School is a boarding and day school in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
