Adelaide A. Draper (1857-1918), a lifelong resident of Lynn,
Massachusetts, worked as a shoe stitcher in a Lynn shoe factory. She was a member of the
Church of Christ (Scientist) and, on December 15, 1880, was elected clerk, a position
she held until her withdrawal from the Church in November 1881. After she left the
Church, she ran a healing practice in Lynn. There is no record of her having studied
with Mary Baker Eddy or Asa Gilbert Eddy.
