Minnie Dischner (1864-1911) was born in Illinois and died in Omaha,
Nebraska. She was a champion butter-maker. In late 1885, she gained nationwide fame as
"Sleeping Beauty" after she fell into a comatose condition at the family farm near
Columbus, Nebraska, and was "asleep" for nearly 70 days. Later on in 1890, she again
fell into a comatose condition for an unknown period, but recovered.
