Amelia B. Dewolf (b. Churchill) (1851-1929) was born in Hamden, Connecticut, and died in Newark, New Jersey. She moved with her family to Newark as a teenager and became a schoolteacher. She married Delavan Dewolf, a Baptist pastor, in 1875. They initially settled in Bristol, Connecticut, but moved back to Newark in 1891 and remained there for the rest of their lives. In 1886 Dewolf's husband learned about Christian Science from M. Anna Osgood, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, and wrote a letter to Eddy inquiring about possible terms for the two of them to study Christian Science with her, although the record does not reflect that they subsequently did so.
