Alfred E. DeMerritt (1866-1944) was born in Madbury, New Hampshire, and
died in Reading, Massachusetts. He worked as a salesman and married Sarah M. Richardson
in Orange, Massachusetts, in 1893. They both joined The First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 1, 1900 and were members of First
Church of Christ, Scientist, Reading, Massachusetts. DeMerritt took Primary class
instruction with Julia E. Prescott, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, and was listed in
the directory of
The Christian Science Journal as a Christian
Science practitioner in Reading from 1904-1905.
