John L. Dehn (c.1831-1907) was born in Germany and died in Mansfield, Ohio. His parents brought him to America in 1840 as a child and he was naturalized in Pennsylvania in 1844. He worked as a tailor, then was a Civil War veteran, serving in Pennsylvania and Maryland, then he went back to being a tailor. He was first married to Margaret R. Dehn, who died in 1870. Then, in Ohio in 1872, he married Sarah A. Dehn (b. Daily). In 1886, Dehn wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
