Samuel G. Davis (1846-1914) was born in Zanesville, Ohio, and died in Charlotte, New York. In 1881, he married Jennie Cuddebock. Davis was a Universalist minister and held pastorates in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, and then Maine again. He wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886, enquiring about the possibility of studying with her, but he does not seem to have done so.
