Charles S. Cutter (1857-1947) was born in Robbinston, Maine, and died in
Lexington, Massachusetts. By the early 1880s he had moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts,
where he worked as a travel agent, clerk, and shipper. He studied Christian Science with
Frank E. Mason, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Cutter was a member of the Church of
Christ (Scientist) in Boston, the Christian Science Dispensary Association, and the
National Christian Science Association. In July 1890 he was voted onto the Board of
Directors of the Church of Christ (Scientist) but declined to serve in that position. By
1910 he had moved to Arlington, Massachusetts, and by 1920 to Lexington, where he
remained for the rest of his life and worked as a real estate dealer.
