Angeline A. Crane (1812-1897) was born in Littleton, New Hampshire, and
died in Avon, Massachusetts. She was the wife of Ebenezer Crane, a farmer who lived and
worked in East Stoughton (now Avon), Massachusetts. The Crane family were neighbors of
Hiram S. Crafts', an early student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Eddy (then Patterson) lived
with Crafts and his wife in East Stoughton from about November 1866 to April 1867. While
living there she appears to have formed a friendship with Angeline A. Crane, writing an
untitled poem to Crane in February 1867.
