Harriet D. Covel (b. Bullard) (c.1833-1905) was born in New Hampshire and died in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Dubuque, Iowa, sometime before 1870, where she worked as a schoolteacher and then as a clerk. From the 1880s through 1904 she owned and operated a book, stationery, and art supply store in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She then retired to Fernando, California. In 1886 she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to inquire about terms for buying Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures to sell in her store.
