Dwight D. Comstock (1828-1907) was born in Farmersville, New York, and
died in Lost Nation, Iowa. He was a Civil War veteran who served in Company I of the
24th Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry. After the Civil War he worked as a dry goods
merchant in Sharon, Iowa, and then in Lost Nation. He became interested in Christian
Science in 1885 after reading
Science and Health with Key to the
Scriptures and receiving Christian Science treatment through prayer from
Caroline D. Noyes.
