Cynthia Childs (c. 1826-1886) was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and died in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, studying with her in October 1881. Childs joined the Christian Scientist Association and Church of Christ (Scientist) in November 1882 and was an active member until she withdrew from both in February 1884, shortly after the expulsion of her daughter, Clara E. Choate.
