Anna S. Chamberlin (1846-1894) was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and most likely died in Eddyville, Iowa. She was the wife of George W. Chamberlin, a druggist, and the sister of Winfield Scott Stratton, a successful prospector who mined in Colorado. Anna became interested in Christian Science while living in Council Bluffs, Iowa, writing to Mary Baker Eddy to ask for information about studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. Anna was accepted to the College, taking Primary class with Mary Baker Eddy in late March 1886. It is not documented whether or not Anna remained active in the Christian Science movement after studying with Eddy.
