Lois G. Caswell (1836-1920) was born in Whitefield, New Hampshire, and
died in Oakland, Maine. She graduated from Thetford Academy in Thetford, Vermont, and
Newbury Seminary in Newbury, Vermont. In 1855, she married Alba S. Caswell, a conductor
on the Boston & Lowell Railroad, in Concord, Vermont. Janette E. Weller, a student
of Mary Baker Eddy's, wrote to Eddy in 1886, asking her to send Caswell a copy of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
