William W. Byington (1822-1909) was born in Williston, Vermont, and died
in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. He was a farmer who became interested in Christian Science in
1884 when he received Christian Science treatment though prayer from Silas J. Sawyer, a
student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Although he expressed an interest in Christian Science,
there is no record of him studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of
Christ (Scientist).
