Julia M. Burnham (c.1855-1923) was born in New York and died in Pasadena,
California. For many years Burnham lived in Clinton, Iowa, where she worked as a school
teacher. She became interested in Christian Science in 1884 and first studied with A. A.
Reed, a student of Bradford Sherman's. Burnham later took Primary class (1885) with Mary
Baker Eddy and joined the Christian Scientist Association on October 7, 1885. She was a
member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and joined The First
Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 30, 1894. Burnham was
listed as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher in the directory of
The Christian Science Journal from 1898 until 1920.
