John C. Bundy (1841-1892) was born in St. Charles, Illinois, and died in
Chicago, Illinois. During the Civil War, Bundy served with the 15th Illinois Cavalry
Regiment in Missouri and Arkansas. In 1862, he was commissioned as Lieutenant-Colonel of
the First Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Union). After the war, he worked as a real estate
broker in Chicago. In 1877, he became editor and publisher of the spiritualist
periodical
Religio-Philosophical Journal, a position he held
until his passing. There is no record of Bundy studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting
with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
