Edmund C. Bryant (1852-1932) was born in Anson, Maine, and died in Medford, Massachusetts. He married Eva R. Woods in 1878. In 1879, he graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. Bryant worked as a dentist for over 47 years in Augusta and Pittsfield, Maine, and was president of the Maine Dental Society in 1884. He served in the Maine State Senate from 1901-1903 and was chairman of the Committee on Reform School. Bryant was also one of the directors of the Pittsfield National Bank. In 1885, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information about studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, but there is no record of Bryant studying with Eddy or uniting with The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
