Delinda E. Brownell (1840-1919) was born in Binghamton, New York, and
died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She married Cyrus J. Brownell, a druggist, in 1860.
She studied with Ellen E. Cross, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, and then became a
student of Eddy herself, completing the Normal class on February 7, 1887. Brownell
joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 6,
1894. She was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of First Church of Christ, Scientist,
Philadelphia, and Principal of the Pennsylvania Christian Science Institute. Brownell
was listed in the directory of
The Christian Science Journal as
a Christian Science practitioner from 1896 until her death.
