Causten Browne (1828-1909) was born in Washington, D.C., and died in
Brookline, Massachusetts. He was a partner in the law firm, Browne, Holmes & Browne,
and was an expert on patent law and fraud statutes. He authored
A
Treatise on the Construction of the Statute of Frauds (1857) and represented
Edward J. Arens in the lawsuit brought by Mary Baker Eddy against Arens in 1883.
