Maria B. Brown (1828-1912) was born in Fairfield, Maine, and died in
Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, taking Primary class
instruction in May 1882 and joining the Christian Scientist Association the following
December. Brown maintained a healing practice in Lawrence after studying with Eddy, and
the records of the Association suggest she left the Christian Science movement in 1889.
There is no record of Brown uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
