John A. Brown (1831-1897) was born in New York and died in Chicago, Illinois. He worked as a merchant and married Frances A. Bradshaw in Chicago in 1892. They both joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 3, 1897.
