Peter G. Bradstreet (1821-1889) was a prominent ship builder and lifelong
resident of Gardiner, Maine. In addition to owning a shipyard, he was an investor in the
Maine Trust and Banking Co. and the Kennebec and Boston Steamboat Company. Bradstreet
received several Christian Science treatments from Alice B. Poole, a student of Mary
Baker Eddy's. Although he expressed an interest in Christian Science, there is no record
of him studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ
(Scientist).
