Eric W. Borden (1848-1921) was born and died in Fall River,
Massachusetts. He married Caroline C. Davis in 1873. In 1881, when his father resigned
as cashier of the Massasoit National Bank of Fall River, he was elected as his
successor. Upon the consolidation of three banks in 1903, he was elected cashier of the
Pocasset National Bank, a position he held until his death. In 1886, Stephen A. Chase
sent a check from Borden to Mary Baker Eddy for what was most likely a copy of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
