John T. Boddy

John T. Boddy (1850-1931) was born in Ontario, Canada, and died in Los Angeles, California. He was a minister and Bible teacher who wrote religious poetry, including The Spirit of the Age, and Other Poems (1911). He married M. Hilton in Ontario in 1878. In 1886, Boddy wrote to Mary Baker Eddy for various copies of her writings. He was ordained by the Free Methodist Church in 1901 and transferred his credentials to the Assemblies of God in 1917. Boddy was editor of the Pentecostal Evangel, the official weekly magazine of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, in Springfield, Missouri, from 1919-1921.
