John C. Blackman (1824-1912) was born in New York and died in Fremont,
Nebraska. He worked as a railroad clerk and served in the Civil War as a 1st Lieutenant.
His daughter, C. Lulu Blackman, joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston,
Massachusetts, in 1894 and was listed as a practitioner and teacher in the directory of
The Christian Science Journal.
