Elisha Bass (1820-1880) was born in Wilton, Maine, and died in Fairplay,
Colorado. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1840 and afterwards worked as a lawyer
representing the interests of mining companies, first in Brownsville, Texas, and then in
Fairplay, Colorado. He married Elizabeth E. Bass (c.1835-1923) on February 13, 1856, in
Wilton, Maine. He was a patient of Asa G. Eddy but there is no record of Bass having
studied Christian Science.
