Lovina B. Barrett (b. Streeter) (1825-1903) was born in New York and died in Minnesota. In 1843, she married Orrin H. Barrett. He was a farmer in Iowa. The couple had at least seven children, including Sophia C. Leland (b. Barrett). In 1886, Sophia wrote to Mary Baker Eddy about learning Christian Science so that she could heal Lovina, who had cancer, and a brother who was disabled.
