George H. Atwood (c.1845-1929) was born in Landaff, New Hampshire, and died in Lisbon, New Hampshire. He was a farmer who wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1885, asking for information on studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. There is no record of Atwood studying at the College, but he remained interested in Christian Science, joining The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in June 1894.
