Lucie A. Allyn (b. Kellogg) (1840-1924) was born in Hampton, New York, and died in Washington, D.C. She married Charles F. Allyn, who was a Lieutenant in the American Civil War in Company C, 1st Regiment of Mounted Rifles, New York Cavalry of the Union Army. She was widowed before 1880 and lived at various times in Potosi, Kansas, Rochester, Minnesota, Newburgh, New York, and Washington, D.C. Allyn taught music in both Newburgh and Washington D.C., and later she became a book agent. In 1885 she was healed through Christian Science treatment by Lysbeth L. Campbell, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, and in 1886 wrote to Eddy expressing interest in studying Christian Science with her, but there is no record of her doing so.
